A lecture by Prof Andrew George (FBA) organised by the Department of Near and Middle Eastern Studies.

This public lecture introduces the audience to one of the most fascinating figures from the ancient world: the Mesopotamian goddess Inanna, who entered the Underworld and escaped alive. The lecture will be given by Professor Andrew George FBA, a world leader in Mesopotamian Studies, and draws on his recent Leverhulme-funded research.
