This panel discussion will examine the attempted coups in the U.S. in 2020 and Brazil in 2022. It will develop a comparative framework comparing their causes, their effects, and their meaning for the future of right-wing authoritarianism and democracy. Note: This event is part of a conference on Global Authoritarianism held throughout the day of 3 June.
