Biography
Dr. Helen Evelyn Malone, PhD, MSc, RNT, SCM, SRN is a Visiting Research Fellow, School of Nursing & Midwifery, Trinity College Dublin, The University of Dublin, Ireland. Helen was awarded an MSc (1984) and PhD (1988) from Trinity College, The University of Dublin and a Nurse Tutor Diploma from University College Dublin. Helen was the 1st person to be awarded the role of Research Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing & Midwifery, Trinity College Dublin and worked in this role from 2016 until she reached retirement age in 2018. Helen's affiliation with the School of Nursing & Midwifery Trinity College Dublin spans over a decade working mainly in research with some teaching input on the Nurse BSc programme teaching psychology and conducting 'Practice Focused Research workshops' and Research Methods workshops' Helen has also lecturing input with a focus on 'tissue viability' on the MSc Gerontological programme
Helen was also one of the 1st three nurses in Ireland with a PhD to register with the Irish Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
Helen is registered on three divisions of An Bord Altranais (Irish Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland):Nurse Tutor division, General Nurse division and the Midwifery Division.
Helen is published as lead author in Journal of Advanced Nursing, British Journal of Nursing, Nurse Researcher, Irish Journal of Medical Science and has acted as reviewer for BMJ Open, The Annals of Public Health and Research and The Journal of Biology and Life Science. Helen has by invitation of the HSE (Health service Executive) conducted statistical workshops. Helen has by invitaion of An Bord Altranais conducted communication skills workshops. Helen has acted as examiner on a Nursing MSc programme and presented at many international conferences.
