Automatic Number Plate Recognition Cameras
Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) cameras are used to collect data on traffic flows and travel times. The Centre has four SMARTREGTM cameras which will be used in several studies. The SMARTREGTM cameras are an all in one, self contained, high resolution, digital automatic number plate recognition system with integrated Ethernet.
The ANPR cameras are used by the Centre to collect data on the following:
- Traffic counts
- Travel times
- Junction performance
- Value of travel time
