Biography
Thomas Duddy was Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at the School of Humanities, National University of Ireland, Galway. His research interests included Irish intellectual history. His publications included a monograph, A History of Irish Thought (London: Routledge, 2002); two edited series of reprints, Irish Philosophy in the Nineteenth Century (Bristol: Thoemmes Press, 2002) and The Irish Response to Darwinism (Bristol: Thoemmes Continuum, 2004); and an edited biographical dictionary, Dictionary of Irish Philosophers (Bristol: Thoemmes Continuum, 2004). His paper, ’Thinking Ireland: Cultural Nationalism and the Problem of Irish Ideas’, New Hibernia Review, Vol 7, No. 1, (Spring, 2003), pp. 14-23, is available online via Project Muse. Thomas passed away in 2012.
