National Consortium information for peer-led transition co-ordinators
The National Consortium for Peer-Led Transition is a forum for all staff and students leading/participating in programmes that are delivered by students for students in higher education, and aim to foster belonging, academic self-efficacy and/or student success. These include mentoring
programmes, peer-assisted learning programmes, and peer-assisted study programmes, among others.
The Consortium drew from the Student Affairs Ireland (then CSSI) Special Interest Group for Peer Mentoring, and from staff and student groups who came together to support 3Set's Work Package 3 between 2019 and 2022. The Consortium was seminal in organising a national framework for recruitment, training and delivery of peer-led transition programmes during the Covid-19 pandemic, and for the compilation of the National Best practice Guidelines for Peer-Led Transition.
The group took a hiatus in 2023 but returned in 2025 and aims to meet every 3 months to share best practice, trouble shoot common issues and, most importantly, avail of peer support from each other.
