Dr. Elaine Moriarty has been appointed as Head of Department for a three-year term. In assuming this role, Dr. Moriarty expressed her sincere gratitude to her colleagues for their continued support, with special thanks to the outgoing Head of Department, Drr Jan Skopek, for his leadership and dedication, and looked forward to taking on the new role with enthusiasm.
Dr Skopek offered his heartfelt congratulations to the incoming Head saying: "It has been a great honour to be head of such a collegial, cohesive, and committed department! Elaine, who is now our new head, will bring new energy and vision to the position creating new opportunities for us as Sociology to thrive."
