Commenting on this news, Professor Camilla Devitt, Associate Professor of Sociology and member of the EDI Committee, said:
We are delighted to be leading the implementation of the Athena Swan Action Plan in the School of Social Sciences and Philosophy. This means introducing and formalising a variety of policies and practices, which ensure that everybody feels included and supported in their work and learning.
Many thanks to Professor Gizem Arikan, Dr David Ralph, Dr Jemimah Bailey, and the wider EDI team for their tremendous work in developing the application and for leading the way in implementing the action plan and committing to an inclusive and supportive culture within our School. Professor Camilla Devitt, Dr David Ralph, Ms Natasha Halpin, and the wider EDI Committee, are now leading the implementation of our new action plan.
