The annual Provost’s Pride Celebration, hosted by the Provost and the Trinity LGBT+ Staff Network, welcomed staff, students and friends to the Provost’s Garden for a celebration of ‘Pride at Trinity - Then, Now and Next’. At the event the LGBT+ Staff Network drew a clear line connecting Trinity with a number of hugely important human rights achievements impacting not just the LGBT+ Community, but Irish society as a whole.

Speakers on the evening included four of the founding members of the Sexual Liberation Movement (SLM), who are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year. Guests heard from Edmund Lynch, Hugo Andre McManus, Mary Dorcey, and Micheal Kerrigan, who each shared their perspectives and experiences with true openness and honesty.

Co-Chair of the Trinity LGBT+ Staff Network, Evan Blake, Provost Linda Doyle, and the Dean of Research, Prof. Sinéad Ryan also spoke about the importance of celebrating Pride and ensuring that Trinity's trailblazing reputation continues to extend to support developments with the LGBT+ Community. Trinity will always be a place where people can be their true self.
