Dr Matthias Dilling had a big year, picking up both Trinity's Inspiring Educator Award and the Brian Farrell Book Prize for his book on party politics. Lily Rice took her research on sentencing policy all the way to Chicago, presenting at the Midwest Political Science Association's annual conference. And the Social and Political Review launched its first themed volume, Identity, Communities and Power, with a discussion led by the Ambassador of Palestine to Ireland.

As Professor Paul O'Grady notes in his welcome, Ireland's Presidency of the Council of the EU puts the School in a strong position to shape the conversation on Europe's future. Political Science will do exactly that this autumn, when Dr Jesse Dillon Savage and Dr Thomas Chadefaux take on transatlantic security in the Trump era, on 8 October.
