Fraser Mitchell - Chair
Fraser Mitchell is an ecologist with research and teaching interests in long-term environmental change. He has worked in the Botany Department since 1990 and is a former Head of School. He and wife have brought up four children while both working.
Robbie Goodhue
I have worked in the Geology Department in TCD since 2001. As a Senior Experimental Officer I have supported a wide range of research projects in the Department and School on an expanding analytical facility. I also teach a module on analytical techniques, supervise postgraduate research students and I am a Funded Investigator in the Irish Centre for Research in Geosciences. We have two daughters and other commitments which keep my wife and I busy all the time.
Sarah Guerin
Sarah Guerin is the Executive Officer for Geology, Earth Sciences and Geography/Geoscience. She joined Trinity in 2006 as an Executive Officer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery and is in her current role since June 2016. She very much enjoys her role in this dynamic and diverse department being actively involved in a number of committees.
Iris Moeller
Iris Moeller is Professor of Geography, specialising in coastal dynamics and geomorphology. She is Head of Department of Geography and, through past involvements in equality and diversity initiatives and as a working mother herself, has a strong interest in developing a fair and equitable academic working environment, particularly for those with caring responsibilities.
Nessa O’Connor
Nessa O’Connor is an Assoc. Prof. in Zoology, specialising in marine biology and ecology. She is a full-time working mother of three and her partner is also an academic. Nessa was previously the Chair of the Gold-Athena SWAN award winning School of Biological Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast and brings several years of experience championing diversity and equality to the new SNS SAT.
Juan Diego Rodriguez-Blanco
Dr. Juan Diego Rodriguez-Blanco is an Ussher Assistant Professor in Nanomineralogy who strives to maintain a work-life balance. He is a full-time working father who focuses on mineral-water interaction processes and leads and active multidisciplinary research group.
Charilaos Yiotis
Charilaos Yiotis is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Botany, specialising in plant physiology. He is a full-time working new father, who strives to maintain a work-life balance while collaborating with researchers across the School of Natural Sciences.
Jessie Dolliver
Jessie Dolliver is a Masters student in the Department of Zoology, researching marine macrophytes. A recent Botany graduate, she has been active in many campaigns for social and environmental justice. She is passionate about dismantling systematic barriers to science and academia, particularly those of gender, race, and class.
Zoe Roseby
Zoe Roseby is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Geology. Her current research is focussed on reconstructing Irish sea level change using a range of sedimentological and micropalaeontological techniques. She is enthusiastic about supporting equality and diversity in STEM.
Margaret Jackson
Margaret Jackson is an Assistant Professor in Geography, specialising in physical geography and palaeoclimate. She joined Trinity in 2020, and is active in science communication and outreach initiatives.
Andrew Neill
Andrew Neill is a PhD researcher in the School of Botany interested in environmental sustainability and sustainable development. His research explores how people interact with nature and how ecosystem service information can be used within decision-making. Andrew is passionate about creating a diverse, accessible, and inclusive academic environment where everyone can engage and thrive.
Micha Ruhl
Micha Ruhl is an Assistant Professor in Sedimentology, specializing in understanding and constraining (the causes and consequences of) past climatic and environmental conditions and changes. He and his partner are both full-time academics, while at the same time raising their 1-year-old son.
