Safety

• Use of SafeZone is reqired in MMBE labs and offices outside normal working hours:

• Parsons and WATTS opening hours for experimental work:

• Parsons and WATTS extended hours for computer based work:

• Weekends and Holidays, 09:00 to 17:00

• For security reasons, Stack B users are required to "Swipe-in" on entry to, and "Swipe-out" on exit from the building.

Report Prohibited Hours Access

• Access to any laboratory is limited to individuals authorised by the research supervisor or
  person in charge.
• A Risk Assessment must be completed for each process or activity carried out in the lab.
• New or untrained individuals, or those working in high-risk or unfamiliar settings, must be
  supervised until competent.
• Visiting researchers and new staff must receive relevant safety training before access is
  permitted.
• Laboratories containing specific hazards must:
• Display clear hazard warning signs,
• Restrict access to trained and authorised personnel only,
• Require supervisor permission before admitting visitors or unauthorised individuals.
• Lone working is not permitted without approval from the MMBE safety Officer.
