Biography

Juan Diego is a PhD researcher in Constitutional Law. His research is focus on collective non-institutional political actions, mostly social movements, and constitutional changes. Juan Diego holds Bachelor of Theology degree (LST) from FAJE, Brazil. Before that, he obtained his BA in Philosophy from the Alberto Hurtado University and his LLM in Law from the University of Chile. Along with his academic interests, Juan Diego has developed work in support of social movements both in Chile and in Brazil. He is currently linked to the Mapuche (indigenous community) movements in southern Chile, and those in defence of the rain forest in the Amazon.
