The Princes of the Law - Class of 1984 Reunion

The Class of 1984 met for lunch to mark the appointments of Seamus Woulfe and Denis McDonald as Attorney General and High Court judge respectively

The Princes of the Law

Seamus and Denis.
Denis and Seamus.
The famous two.
Here’s to you.
The two musketeers.
The princes of the law
galloping on your steeds
through the streets of Ireland
shouting “Trust us.
We’re the swordsmen of justice,
we’re the legal system’s guardsmen,
we’re the Constitution’s hardmen
from the class of ’84”.
But if things don’t go to plan,
if you’ve been a bit of a sinner,
if you’ve made such a mess
that even a dog
wouldn’t have it for dinner,
never mind:
There are people who are there for you.
There are people there who care for you.
There are people there who trained you.
There are people there who tamed you.
There are people who remember
what you were
and who you were before
you were princes of the law.
Res ipsa loquitur.
The class of ’84.
