Dr John Temple Lang - RIP
The Law School is deeply saddened to learn that Dr. John Temple Lang passed away on 4 November 2022. Dr. Temple Lang studied Legal Science at Trinity College Dublin, becoming a scholar in 1956. He was also auditor of the Dublin University Law Society, 1956-57. After graduating from Trinity College Dublin, he flourished in a professional career that included many years working in the legal service of the European Commission.
He became a leading expert and author in EU law, with a particular specialism in Competition Law. His passion for improving knowledge and understanding of EU law was reflected in his active and sustained contribution to the Irish Centre for European Law. For many years, he was, and continued to be, an Adjunct Professor at the School of Law. His guest lectures in EU law were always highly appreciated by students. The Law School extends its sincere condolences to his family.
