Professor Ivana Bacik named the Women Lawyer of the Year
Professor Bacik received a standing ovation as she was named Woman Lawyer of the Year at a gala dinner organised by the Irish Women Lawyers Association (IWLA) with support from Finuas Skillnet and Eversheds Sutherland.
IWLA president and retired Supreme Court judge Ms Justice Catherine McGuinness presented the award to Professor Bacik at the association’s recent gala dinner. Others in attendance included Justices Donnelly, Mary Faherty, Eileen Creedon, Bronagh O’Hanlon and Carmel Stewart Accepting the award, Professor Bacik led applause at members of the judiciary in attendance, including Justices Aileen Donnelly, Faherty, Creedon, O’Hanlon and Stewart and Judges Sinead Ní Chúlacháin, Martina Baxter and Patricia McNamara.
