Symposium: Call for Abstracts

About this Symposium
We are pleased to announce this year's symposium theme, Climate Change, an EU Perspective, to be held at Trinity College Dublin.The symposium will take place on October 16, 2025, at the Trinity Long Room Hub, Trinity College Dublin. Speakers will receive feedback from panel chairs during the event. The keynote panel will be announced shortly.
- Refreshments and lunch will be provided (vegetarian and gluten-free options available);
- Travel funds are available (limited);
- Sustainability measures have been implemented to ensure the symposium is environmentally friendly, including eco-conscious catering and recycling initiatives;
- To ensure zero food waste, any excess refreshments and meals will be redistributed;
- This Symposium is funded by the Trinity Trust Fund and the School of Law.
We now invite early-career researchers from across Ireland and Europe to submit abstracts on the following topics:
- EU Climate Governance, including the EU Just Transition and related policies;
- Climate Change and Human Rights, such as EU Asylum Law, due diligence in climate policies;
- Disparities in EU Climate Policy, including public participation (e.g., youth engagement in decision-making), corporate accountability under EU law, and beyond;
- The EU’s role in the global context covers topics such as EU cooperation with developing countries, trade and environmental policies, and more;
- Other relevant topics related to contemporary challenges on climate change, EU policies, and EU law.
Procedure for Submitting Papers
Please submit a 250-word abstract by June 2025 to tcdclimatesymposium@gmail.com. Selected abstracts will be announced by the end of June 2025. Extended abstracts (1,500 words) will be due in September 2025.
