The Law School at Trinity College Dublin will host Mr Osvaldo Zavala Gilar, the Registrar of the International Criminal Court, for a lecture on Monday, 19 February at 6:30 pm in the Neill Theatre at the Trinity Long Room Hub.

The Registrar's lecture is entitled: A Crucial Moment for Global Justice: The Role of the International Criminal Court. The event is jointly sponsored by the Law School and the Department of Foreign Affairs.

At a moment when the world's attention is fixated on the conflicts in Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan, Myanmar, and beyond, this lecture by the highest administrative officer of the ICC will provide a timely window into the ICC's current activities. The Registry, led by the Registrar, plays a crucial role in ensuring that other organs of the ICC can effectively carry out their functions in relation to the investigation and prosecution of individuals for war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, and aggression.
