Europe's biggest challenges don't stop at national borders. Neither does the research that helps solve them. 

At Trinity College Dublin, researchers work every day with colleagues across Europe to tackle issues that affect us all,from climate change, healthy ageing and cancer to trustworthy artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and protecting our shared cultural heritage.

Ireland's Presidency of the Council of the European Union offers an opportunity to celebrate what European collaboration makes possible. Research is one of Europe's greatest shared strengths, bringing together people, ideas and expertise from different countries to solve problems no single nation can address alone. 

That spirit was on display when Trinity welcomed EU Research Attachés from across Europe to campus during the Irish Presidency. The visit showcased how researchers from across disciplines are working with European partners to deliver discoveries that improve lives, strengthen resilience and help shape Europe's future.

Our Presidency campaign is built around a simple message: 

Someone here is working on Europe's hardest problems. That is what investment in research makes possible. 

That message reflects something bigger than Trinity. It reflects the power of European collaboration. 

Every partnership, every shared project and every exchange of ideas demonstrates that research is strongest when we work together across borders. Through Horizon Europe and countless collaborations with universities, industry and policymakers across the continent, Trinity researchers contribute to a European research community built on curiosity, openness and shared purpose.
