At this year's IEA Conference, Trinity College Dublin was represented by many staff and research students from the Department of Economics.
Head of Department, Agustín Bénétrix, presented "Cross-Sectorial Arbitrage: The Unintended Consequences of Macroprudential Policy on Non-Bank Financial Intermediation" on the 8th of May. Paper presentations were also given by Martyna Marczak, Martina Zanella, and Selim Gulesci.
PhD student Doireann O'Brien was awarded the Conniffe Prize for her paper presentation "Is Child Marriage an Unintended Consequence of a Ban on Sex-Selective Abortion?"
PhD student Bhavya Shrivastava won the Irish Society for Women in Economics (ISEW) Prize for her paper presentation "Financing Female Micro-Entrepreneurs: An Experiment on Flexible and Sustainable Credit Products".
