This international conference brought together researchers exploring empirical questions to help understand economic dynamics in Ukraine. The two-day programme featured 24 academic paper presentations and discussions on topics ranging from the economic consequences of Russia’s full-scale invasion to insights for Ukraine’s reconstruction, as well as a dedicated policy discussion. Participants represented more than 20 academic and policy institutions across Germany, Ireland, Poland, the Netherlands, the UK, Ukraine, and the USA. The full programme can be found here: link. The insights generated at the conference will serve as the foundation for the Special Issue.
Speaking about the conference, Director of IM-TCD, Dr Vitaliia Yaremko said “Ukraine today is facing numerous challenges, and it is very important to bring together researchers to help address them. Importantly, after two days in Dublin, participants left inspired not only with research insights but also with lessons from Irish history of fighting for independence and building a prosperous country. I cannot think of a better place than Trinity College Dublin for such an event, and I hope it will inspire many productive collaborations driving positive change.”
