Dr. Suesse provided a comparative perspective, offering lessons from Ireland’s north-south collaborations and how these might be applied in a Cypriot context.

Speaking about the event, Dr. Suesse said:

“The Peace process in Northern Ireland, namely the evolution of intercommunal relations within the North, the development of north-south relations on the island of Ireland, as well as changes in the relationship between Dublin and London since 1985 offer rich insights into a variety of issues. These include the role of governments and mediators in aligning incentives in favour of cooperation, but also the importance of bottom-up confidence building and fostering intercommunal trust and dialogue.

It is fantastic to see CEPH’s mission of collaboration and cross-border excellence expanded beyond Ireland, and the lessons learned passed on to those in comparable environments.”
