A trip to the Dublin Zoo

We had a wonderful day at the zoo with the children and their families. It was a great opportunity for everyone to explore, learn, and enjoy time together in a fun and engaging environment. The children showed great excitement as they observed the different animals, talked about what they saw, and asked lots of questions.

This experience supported learning across the Aistear framework:

Exploring and Thinking: The children were curious about the animals, their habitats, and behaviours, developing early scientific thinking and observation skills.

Communicating: The children shared their thoughts, asked questions, and engaged in conversations with peers, staff, and their families.

Well-being: It was a joyful and active day, promoting positive relationships, confidence, and a sense of belonging.

Identity and Belonging: Spending time together on a family outing helped strengthen connections between children, parents, and educators, supporting a sense of community.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable and meaningful experience for all involved! We thank the Trinity College Alumni who funded this project.
