On 12 March 2026, the Trinity Centre for Asian Studies (TCAS) hosted Japan Quiz Night 2026 at Trinity College Dublin as part of a nationwide event held simultaneously at multiple venues in Ireland.

The evening began with opening remarks by Professor Nathan Hill (TCD), who introduced the event’s MC, Dr Erika Marcet from the University of Limerick. Participants also heard welcome greetings from Ms Keiko Nakata, First Secretary at the Embassy of Japan in Ireland, followed by short presentations introducing Japanese language courses offered at Trinity College Dublin, University College Cork, the University of Limerick, and Post-Primary Languages Ireland.

Teams then competed across four quiz rounds testing their knowledge of Japanese language, culture, and society. The event concluded with prize announcements, a reception with Japanese food and refreshments, and a group photo session.

The event was supported by the Japan Foundation, the Embassy of Japan in Ireland, and Post-Primary Languages Ireland, with enthusiastic involvement from the TCD Japan Society. TCAS warmly thanks all sponsors, partners, volunteers, and participants for contributing to a lively celebration of Japanese culture and language learning.
