Where can I live?

If you are nominated or applying under Special Consideration please click here to find out what location you can apply for.

How to apply

Follow these steps

All students

  • All students except CAO students should create their account with their Trinity ID (application number).
  • After you have accepted the unconditional offer, the portal may take up to 2 weeks to recognise your Trinity ID.
  • If you receive a ‘User Not Recognised’ error message, we recommend you try the portal again later. It’s important not to register a CAO account as your application will not be accepted or reviewed.

CAO Applicants

  • CAO students should create their account with their CAO number.
  • Your full name and your CAO number should match your CAO application. Any discrepancies in your name and CAO number may lead to your application not being reviewed.
  • Please ensure that you use your CAO application number and not your Leaving Certificate exam number.
  • Please take a note of your password. If you forget it or need to reset it please email resacc@tcd.ie.

Deferred 1st Year Students

  • Deferred Students can create an account using their Trinity ID number.

  • Make sure you know the location you are eligible for and your preferred room type. To learn more about this take the ‘Where can I live’ quiz or explore the Find your location section below.
  • Please fill out all required fields.
  • If you have a disability, medical condition, or other similar special considerations, you should submit a Additional Needs Application in addition to this room application, and you should note in the room application that you will be looking for Special Consideration.
  • You will receive an email confirmation when your application is submitted.
  • You are all set! Wait for an email from us with a decision.
