Louise Ryan, Chief Financial Officer

Louise Ryan was appointed as Chief Financial Officer in March 2024, having previously held the positions of Interim Chief Financial Officer (since Septemer 2023) and Deputy Chief Financial Officer & Director of Financial Services in FSD (from May 2014). Before moving to Trinity, Louise was a Director in KPMG Restructuring since May 2010.

As a member of Trinity's Senior Leadership team, Louise provides strategic direction on all financial strategy, management and investment matters as they relate to the running of the university. Louise is also responsible for the management and oversight of FSD including the Trinity Endowment Fund.

Louise qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG, holds a B.B.S. from Trinity College Dublin and is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland. Louise works closely with, and reports directly to, the Provost.

Anne-Marie Moran, Interim Deputy Chief Financial Officer & Director of Financial Services

Anne-Marie was appointed as Interim Deputy Chief Financial Officer in September 2023 having previously held the position of Group financial Manager since 2015. Prior to joining Trinity, Anne-Marie held a number of finance positions in the professional services sector including Finance Manager in PwC. As a member of the FSD management team tasked with achieving the University’s strategic objectives, Anne-Marie is principally responsible for reporting the financial position and performance of the University as well as leading out on strategic initiatives.

Anne-Marie is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and holds a Diploma in International Financial Accounting Standards (IFRS).

Paul Coote, Project Appraisal Manager

Paul was appointed by the Financial Services Division in 2008. Prior to joining Trinity, Paul held the role of Head of Finance in JCDecaux Ireland. As a senior member of the FSD management team tasked with achieving the University’s strategic objectives, Paul is principally responsible for the review and appraisal of large capital projects, providing the key information and indicators required for strategic and operational decision making. Paul also represents FSD on several Capital and other Steering Committees and manages Trinity’s treasury and banking functions.

Paul qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PWC in Dublin and holds a B.Comm degree, a Diploma in Professional Accounting and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.

Ben Hartnett, Procurement Manager

Ben was appointed by the Financial Services Division in 1999. Prior to joining Trinity, Ben worked in Hewlett-Packard and ALPS Electric.  As a member of the FSD management team tasked with achieving the University’s strategic objectives, Ben is principally responsible for the delivery of Trinity's Procurement Strategy and the management of procurement activities, including sourcing, purchasing and supplier management.

Ben qualified in Business Studies (Marketing), holds a Masters in Public Procurement and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and supply.

Elaine Sharkey, Projects Accounting Manager (Capital and Research)

Elaine was appointed by the Financial Services Division in 2008 becoming Deputy Projects Accounting Manager in 2015 and Projects Accounting Manager in March 2018. Prior to joining the University, Elaine worked in MCPS-PRS Alliance Ltd. As a member of the FSD management team tasked with achieving the University’s strategic objectives, Elaine is primarily tasked with managing Trinity’s post award financial administration of its Research and Capital project’s portfolio. Elaine is a qualified Management Accountant and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

Cynara Lynch, Interim Group Financial Manager

Cynara Lynch was appointed as Interim Group Financial Manager in September 2023. As a member of the FSD management team tasked with achieving the University’s strategic objectives, Cynara is principally responsible for the management of the Management & Financial Accounting team and all aspects of Management and Financial reporting.

Keith Creedon, Head of Financial Planning & Analysis

Keith was appointed by the Financial Services Division in 2005. Prior to joining Trinity, Keith worked across a range of industries ranging from health insurance to technology start-ups. As a member of the FSD management team tasked with achieving the University’s strategic objectives, Keith is principally responsible for the management of Trinity’s financial and cashflow planning, budgeting and forecasting and the management of the Finance Partner team.

Keith is a qualified Management Accountant and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and holds a B.Comm degree and an MBA.

Jillian Heery, Finance Operations Manager

Jillian was appointed by the Financial Services Division in 2022 and joined the University with financial management experience across various industries, and most recently as Financial Controller at Skillnet Ireland.  As a member of the FSD management team tasked with achieving the University’s strategic objectives, Jillian is responsible for overseeing the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking Operations and Taxation teams within FSD, aligning their operations with industry standards and best practice.

Jillian qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte in Dublin and holds a BA Degree in Accountancy, a Master of Accounting and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.

Donal Milne, Financial Information Systems Manager

Donal was appointed by the Financial Services Division in 2018. Donal joined the University with extensive experience across the full technology stack (Applications, Infrastructure, Operations) which included working in the IT industry as a qualified Electronic Engineer. Prior to Trinity, Donal was Head of Applications and Support for Bord Na Mona. As a member of the FSD management team tasked with achieving the University’s strategic objectives, Donal is responsible for the management, support and over all technology strategy for our Financial Information Systems.

Donal holds a B.Eng. degree in Electronics and a Cert Diploma in Project Management with the Institute of Project Managers in Ireland.

Áine Mulcahy, Special Projects Manager

Áine was appointed by the Financial Services Division in 2004, becoming the Financial Operations Manager in 2006 and moving to the role of Special Projects Manager in 2022. Prior to joining the University, Áine was the Finance Director for Usit Ireland. As a member of the FSD management team tasked with achieving the University’s strategic objectives, Áine is principally responsible for special projects and works closely with the Deputy Chief Financial Officer and Chief Financial Officer.

Áine qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PWC in Dublin and holds a B.Comm degree, a Master of Accounting and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
