Alumni Career Mentoring Options

Mentoring is for all students and graduates interested in developing their career and network. Trinity targets undergraduate penultimate and final year students for specific mentoring and networking events to help them in their transition into the workplace. There are two ways to connect with current Trinity students.

Mentoring Options

Option 1 - Participate in a Mentoring Launch Event for penultimate and final year students and then start mentoring

Option 2 - Connect with all student and alumni mentees through Trinity Alumni Online Mentoring.

Option 1 - Participate in a Mentoring Launch Event for penultimate and final year students and then start mentoring

Get an overview of how to make the most of the Mentoring Briefing with Trinity Development and Alumni and the Careers Service and the Mentoring Launch Events; understand the time commitment and what is expected of you and your mentee through the "How to" Guide for Mentors attending a Mentoring Launch Event. Mentees and mentors connect via Trinity Alumni Online Mentoring.

Key dates for Alumni Mentors

August 2018
  • Register with Trinity Alumni Online Mentoring.
September 2018
  • Register to attend a Mentoring Launch Event. See Trinity Development and Alumni (TDA) and/or MyCareer for dates.
  • Attend a half hour mentor briefing with TDA and Careers Service prior to the event.
  • Attend a Mentoring Launch Event.
  • Respond to Mentee requests via Trinity Alumni Online Mentoring from September onwards.
October 2018
  • Mentoring starts when you secure a mentee from October onwards.
October 2018 to April 2019
  • Aim to meet with your mentee three times for approximately one hour each time. See Mentor Handbook - the handbook is currently being developed and will be available after the Mentor Training taking place 13/09/18
April 2019
  • Mentoring typically lasts six months.

Option 2 - Connect with all student and alumni mentees through Trinity Alumni Online Mentoring.

Register with Trinity Alumni Online Mentoring and connect with Trinity students and alumni. Respond to career related questions. If you are requested as a mentor please respond in a timely fashion.

Mentor Guidelines and Mentor Agreement

When you engage in mentoring through Trinity Alumni Online Mentoring you agree to the Mentor Guidelines and Mentor Agreement.

Mentor Handbook

The Mentor Handbook, available in September 2018, is based on a mentor training workshop. It gives an overview of mentoring and helps develop skills to become a more effective mentor.
