TCD Open Day - Saturday 22 January 2011

The Trinity College Open Day for students starting College in 2011 will take place on Saturday 22 January 2011, from 10.00am to 2.00pm.

The Event Guide is now available to download!

All final year students, mature students, guidance counsellors, teachers and parents are invited to attend.
There will be information stands for each undergraduate course (staffed by academic staff and current students) and for Admissions, Mature students, Accommodation, and Student sports and societies.

There will also be presentations and mini-lectures covering:

  • most of Trinity's undergraduate courses
  • student sports and societies
  • information on how to complete the Trinity College Supplementary Application Form for Mature Students
  • the Trinity Access Programmes
  • information about support services in College for students with disabilities
  • a special series of presentations for teachers and guidance counsellors
  • a presentation specifically for parents

We will also offer campus tours, laboratory tours and demonstrations, and tours of the Sports Centre and the libaries.

Making the most of the Open Day:

  • Read the prospectus and know what courses you are interested in
  • Research the courses by checking out the relevant web-pages
  • Prepare a list of questions to ask at the information stands
  • Find out where the information stands and presentations will be located
  • There are over 100 presentations so know what time the talks you want to attend are on at
Visitors should note that it may not be possible to accommodate all students wishing to attend each presentation. Where possible, talks are repeated.

Getting to Trinity

The College does not have facilities to accommodate school minibuses or coaches. However, Trinity's location at the very centre of Dublin means it is well serviced by public transport.

  • Most suburban bus routes pass close to the Front Arch of Trinity College.
  • The Pearse Street stop on the DART is very close to the pedestrian entrance on Pearse Street.
  • Busarus, the central stop for national buses, is approximately 10 minutes walk from Trinity College.
  • Connolly Station servicing Sligo, Belfast, Rosslare Europort, Dundalk, Arklow, Maynooth, Longford, and the DART is approximately 15 minutes walk from Trinity College.
  • Heuston Station servicing Cork, Tralee, Limerick,Waterford, Ballina/Westport, Galway, Kildare,and Clonmel is approximately 20 minutes walk from Trinity College.
