Call For Papers: Thirty-Ninth Irish Conference of Medievalists | #ICM39
Call for papers for the 39th Irish Conference of Medievalists from Thursday 28 to Friday 29 May 2026 organised by the School of Histories and Humanities.
Dates: Thursday 28 and Friday 29 May 2026
Registration: €40 (students €20). Due when invited to register one month before conference.
Venue: Trinity College Dublin, Dublin 2. Please note that this year it is intended that the conference will be in person.
ICM welcomes speakers from Ireland and abroad on all aspects of the Middle Ages. We now invite proposals for papers on any aspect of medieval studies, including but not limited to:
History | Art History | Literature | Linguistics | Archaeology | Theology | Philosophy | Palaeography
Papers should last no more than 20 minutes (+10 minutes for discussion). Proposals should be sent by email to Dr Immo Warntjes (iwarntje@tcd.ie) no later than 15th March 2026. Each submission should include the following details:
Name | Institutional Affiliation (if any) | Email Address | Paper Title | Abstract (c.100 words)
Themed Sessions: Themed sessions are comprised of three speakers. Please provide a proposal for each paper. You are welcome to nominate your own session chair).
Roundtable Sessions: Proposals are also invited for roundtable sessions of 50 minutes addressing major issues in a field. The proposal should include a short description of the purpose of the roundtable, the name of the chair and a list of agreed participants.
