This public lecture introduces the audience to one of the most fascinating figures from the ancient world: the Mesopotamian goddess Inanna, who entered the Underworld and escaped alive. The lecture will be given by Professor Andrew George FBA, a world leader in Mesopotamian Studies, and draws on his recent Leverhulme-funded research.
