Research Supervisor Development Programme 2017-18
This is a programme jointly hosted and developed by the Office of teh Dean of Graduate Studies, Trinity College Dublin; Academic Practice & eLearning (APEL); and Graduate Studies, University College Dublin. The programme is targeted at research supervisors new to their role, from across the disciplines, as well as more experienced supervisors who wish to share and expand their knowledge and experience.
Students celebrate Trinity Employability Award success
Trinity joined forces with Intel in the new pioneering Trinity Employability Award to increase students’ ‘career readiness’ for future employmentThirty-nine students in their third year from the Schools of Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science and Statistics took part in the programme, which is the first of its kind in Ireland.

The winners for this years Provost Teaching Awards were announced at a ceremony in the Provosts House on 10th April 2018.
Laidlaw Undergraduate Research and Leadership Programme
Trinity is delighted to announce the opening of applications for the Laidlaw Undergraduate Research and Leadership Programme. This is an exciting new scholarship opportunity for undergraduate students across Trinity in 2018.

Developing manageable, meaningful assessments
This programme starts on 1st Feb 2018 with Prof Carol Evans, Professor in Higher Education, University of Southampton.

Students celebrate Trinity Employability Award success
The Long Table - an Ideas Exchange on Assessment
Facilitators: Trinity Education Fellows, 24 April 2017 from 10.00 - 16.00. Colleagues and students are invited to join the Trinity Education Fellows for The Long Table, a public conversation about pedagogy and assessment, with a focus on the future of Trinity College Dublin’s undergraduate education. The Fellows will share some insights they have gained over the course of the project this year, as well as gather input from other members of the college community.

Trinity Employability Award in partnership with Intel Ireland
The award ceremony for the Trinity Employability Award in partnership with Intel will take place on Wednesday 5th April at 5.15pm, in the Joly Theatre, Hamilton Building. The event will celebrate the 42 students from the Schools of Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science and Statistics who completed the Trinity Employability Award in partnership with Intel. All students took part in 30 hours extra-curricular activity as well as attending a workshop on how to reflect on and articulate their skills, and two days of workshops on site at Intel where they learned about problem solving, LEAN and statistics for the real world. In addition to award certificates, the top 6 students will be announced on the night and awarded with a tablet and will compete on the night for the top two prizes. The top male and top female student will each be awarded €2500.

Honorary membership is conferred only very rarely by TCDSU, and only several people have ever received the honour in the history of the union.
Technology-Enhanced Learning Resources
New professional development resources to support academics in designing and developing their Blackboard module are now available in the Staff Help tab within Blackboard.
Irish Survey of Student Engagement (ISSE)
ISSE will run from the 12th March to the 1st April 2018. ISSE is a National Student Survey that: First Year, Final Year, Postgraduate Taught and for the first time in 2018 - Postgraduate Research Students are asked to participate in. Twenty-seven Higher Education Institutions across Ireland participate - all Universities, all Institutes of Technology and a number of Colleges.
