Linda travelled to Cork in early November for a number of engagements.

The day started at Munster Technological University where Linda met with President Maggie Cusack for a discussion focused on issues facing the higher education sector.

This was followed by a meeting with female technology researchers at the Nimbus Research Centre where the focus was on cyber security research.

The Cork Life Centre was the next stop, where Director Don O’Leary, staff and students, provided a warm welcome. The centre is a voluntary organisation offering an alternative learning environment for marginalised young people.

The trip concluded with an address to 300 people gathered for the annual Lavanagh Ladies Lunch in aid of Enable Ireland.
