SPEAKERS BIO's

Dr Linda Doyle was appointed the 45th Provost of Trinity College Dublin in August 2021, becoming the first woman to hold the role since the university’s foundation in 1592. Prior to her appointment as Provost, Linda was Professor of Engineering and The Arts in Trinity. Her research, which combined creative arts practices with engineering, explored the critical and creative tensions between arts and technology with the purpose of generating knowledges, insights and alternative research orientations across disciplines that are sometimes perceived to be mutually exclusive. She is a Fellow of Trinity College Dublin and an Honorary Fellow of Oriel College, Oxford.

Prof. Massimo Faggioli is Professor in Ecclesiology at the Loyola Institute at Trinity College Dublin (Ireland). He is an internationally established scholar, with many publications in the area of Vatican II and the papacy. He is a renowned public commentator on church affairs, religion and politics. Forthcoming publication is entitled Leo XIV and the Global Church. Unity and Peace (Liturgical Press).

Dr Fáinche Ryan is Director of the Loyola Institute and Associate Professor of Systematic Theology at Trinity College Dublin. She is a Fellow of Trinity College Dublin.  Her research focuses on the theology of Thomas Aquinas, and the of truth-telling and truthfulness in a post truth world. She is current President of the European Society of Catholic Theology.  

Bishop Paul Tighe is the secretary of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Culture and Education and a leading Vatican expert on AI. He has participated in the Rome Call for AI Ethics and the Minerva Dialogues. He is the former secretary of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications.
