Public Lecture titled St Patrick and Armagh: primacy, pre-eminence and pilgrimage given by Dr. Catherine Swift, Mary Immaculate College.
We commemorate Patrick every year as the missionary who founded the Irish church and we identify the Archbishop of Ireland as Patrick's successor and Primate of all Ireland. In this short course we examine the evidence for the development of both of these important traditions in Irish Christianity and discuss the implications for modern communities today.
