How We Work Together

Funding Support for Collaborative Research

Frequently Asked Questions

No. You can engage while the opportunity is still being shaped. Trinity Innovation can support partner discussions, proposition development and identifying suitable funding mechanisms.

Depending on the project and partners involved, collaborative research may be supported through industry funding or public funding programmes. Trinity Innovation can help identify an appropriate route for the proposed partnership. You can view some of the funding supports available further down the page. We engage through multiple routes depending on the exact nature of the project. Contact us to explore.

IP arrangements depend on the nature of the project, existing IP, funder requirements and the contribution of the parties. These considerations are addressed as part of developing the proposal and research agreement. The current Trinity Innovation process includes IP review at proposal stage and finalisation of IP arrangements before project launch.

A research collaboration usually involves partners working together on a research question or programme and may involve external funding, shared research activity and newly generated IP. Academic consultancy is generally a more defined engagement where an academic applies existing expertise to address a specific client need. Trinity Innovation support both types of engagement as well as the professional review and execution of all research contracts. Get in touch if you'd like to discuss.
