Dean's Research Initiatives Fund

In 2016-17 the Faculty of Health Sciences launched its second call for the Dean's Research Initiatives Fund, which is specifically designed to support new and innovative research that will enhance Trinity College's and the Faculty of Health Sciences' ability to compete for large-scale, interdisciplinary, single- and multi-investigator extramural awards. The fund aims to advance the research priorities of Trinity College's Strategic Plan, to raise the national and international profile of the University and to increase receipt of Horizon 2020 and HRB awards and other funding. The Dublin Midlands Hospital Group have provided finding for two additional Dean's Awards, bringing the total amount awarded to €180,000. The Dean thanks Dr Susan O'Reilly, Chair of the Dublin Midlands Hospital Group for her generous support.

A high volume of quality applications were received from across all four Schools in the Faculty, and each of the five research focus areas of the award were represented. It is with great pleasure that we announce nine winners of the 2016-17 Faculty of Health Sciences Dean's Research Initiatives Fund:
