Celebrating National Breastfeeding Week:
Innovations for Successful Breastfeeding

October 4 & 5 2022

Keynote Speaker: Nancy Morbacher

Nancy Mohrbacher, IBCLC, FILCA began helping nursing families in 1982 as a volunteer peer supporter. She became a board-certified lactation consultant in 1991 and spent 10 years growing a large private lactation practice in the Chicago area, where she worked one-on-one with thousands of families. Nancy wrote three current books for nursing parents and two for lactation specialists, including her 2020 comprehensive, evidence-based-based resource, Breastfeeding Answers, Second Edition. Her Breastfeeding Solutions app is used worldwide and her YouTube channel has nearly 2 million views. She currently contracts with hospitals to improve lactation practices. She created and presents a 90-hour training course in China to prepare aspiring lactation consultants for the IBLCE exam and speaks at events around the world. Nancy was in the first group of 16 to be honored for their contributions to breastfeeding with the designation FILCA, Fellow of the International Lactation Consultant Association.

Digital Art Exhibition: Dr Afif El-Khuffash

Mother and Child Collection will be on display digitally throughout the Innovations for Successful Breastfeeding Conference. The paintings will be intimate, raw, empowering and encompass the wide range of emotion, experiences, struggles and elation that come with the breastfeeding journey.

About the Artist:

I am a neonatologist at the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin, Ireland. I am an emerging professional digital artist. The paintings I draw reflect my passion for vibrant colours and a desire to merge abstraction with figurative images. As I work with infants and their families, many of my pieces are influenced by my clinical work. I have a passion for painting images of mother and infant breastfeeding dyads, with the purpose of capturing the special bond that exists between a mother and her baby including all the highs and lows (including the stigma) that surrounds the breastfeeding journey. I like experimenting with different art styles. The majority of my work merges realistic imagery with abstract backgrounds/components.
