The Indian festival of colours, Holi, was celebrated today by hundreds of Trinity students on Front Square.  The celebration is organised by the student-run Trinity Indian Society.   The Holi festival is famous for the throwing of coloured powder at friends to celebrate the end of winter and beginning of spring.   It is one of the most widely celebrated Indian festival worldwide and has been embraced by Trinity and its students as a way of promoting multiculturalism and diversity.

The event, which included Indian music and dancing, is one of the most exciting occasions in the College's calendar of international themed events and has seen numbers increase each year.

Footage of the event can be viewed on the Irish Times website at: http://www.irishtimes.com/culture/trinity-students-get-colourful-as-they-celebrate-holi-1.2584457
