Welcome

Research at the Trinity Centre for Forced Migration Studies.

The primary goal of the Trinity Centre for Forced Migration Studies is to promote and enhance the inter-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary engaged study of factors determining and resulting from the forced migration of populations, drawing on the research and teaching interests of academics in a variety of disciplines across Trinity College, many of whom are already actively engaged in a variety of collaborative research projects funded by different bodies.

The Centre also aims to encourage and facilitate networking and collaboration between academics from other universities both nationally and internationally as well as policy-makers from NGO's, grassroots and charitable organisations, in order to address the current need for critical research in this area, thereby adding to international research and debate on forced migration.

This contributes in many ways to the overall mission of the Trinity College Dublin Research Charter, and to the more specific pledge to harness our collective expertise for the greater good. The Centre will organise a yearly lecture or conference and twice yearly (one per semester) lunchtime seminar or workshop with speakers from Trinity College, other national and international Higher Education institutions and the civic society, NGO and voluntary sectors. These will be open to the public and will be widely advertised within the University, through this website and other member networks.
