Seven students at Trinity College Dublin have been awarded Three Ireland Connect to STEM Scholarships for Women as part of an initiative supporting the next generation of female leaders in science and technology.

The scholarships were presented at a ceremony on Monday, February 23rd, 2026, and are the latest in a programme that has supported more than 20 Trinity students since its launch in the 2022/23 academic year.

They are: 

  • Leah Nolan, Theoretical Physics (1st year) Cork (pictured above second from right in back)
  • Anuska Saha, Engineering (1st year) Kerry (above on left)
  • Lucy Pakenham, Engineering (1st year) Meath (seated on left)
  • Heather McFadden, PhysicalSciences (1st year) Sligo (second from left in back)
  • Charlotte MacDonnell, Theoretical Physics (2nd year) Dublin (seated on right)
  • Alicia O'Keeffe, Engineering with Management (2nd year) Cork (centre at back)  
  • Rahma Elmbaridi, Engineering (2nd year) Louth (on far right)

The award scheme, delivered in partnership with Three Ireland, provides financial support worth up to €20,000 per student over the course of an undergraduate degree, along with mentoring opportunities designed to help students build careers in STEM fields.

Recipients were selected following a written application process and are studying courses across physics, engineering, and other science disciplines within Trinity’s STEM schools.
