Postgrad Awards 2025 are thrilled to announce that E3’s Micheál Lynham, a distinguished part-time postgraduate lecturer, is the recipient of the 2025 Masters Teacher of the Year Award (UK & Ireland). This significant honour recognises his unwavering dedication to postgraduate education and the substantial, positive influence he has had on his students and the wider academic community.


The judging panel, composed of leading experts and previous award recipients, convened on 21 July, was deeply impressed by his extensive contributions. His impact extends far beyond the classroom, evidenced by his remarkable student throughput, proactive leadership in sustainability initiatives, and the successful organisation of major national academic events. The judges also praised his pioneering use of digital learning to create innovative and engaging educational experiences. The overwhelming and passionate support from his colleagues and students further solidified his nomination, highlighting the profound reach of his inspirational teaching and leadership.
One judge commented, "This nomination is incredibly strong, demonstrating influence across the broader postgraduate community. The passion and support from both students and colleagues clearly evidence Micheál’s inspirational teaching and leadership. A worthy winner of this prestigious award!".


This award celebrates Micheál's dedication to ongoing learning and innovation, and his exceptional ability to mentor and empower his students. He has a unique talent for blending academic rigor with real-world relevance, making complex subjects accessible and inspiring students to push their own boundaries. His passion for teaching is clear in the outstanding feedback he receives, preparing students not just for exams, but for successful and impactful careers.


Micheál’s extensive expertise is also demonstrated through his supervisory work, where he guides up to 30 postgraduate master’s students each year with their research. Michael also shares his knowledge of Digitalisation and Global Supply Chain Management with students at South East Technological University and the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport. Additionally. This year Micheál recently secured Skillnet Ireland (national talent agency) funding with CILT Mobility & Supply Chain Skillnet to run a successful 8-week Digital Marketing & Management programme, showcasing his commitment to developing talent within the transport, logistics, and supply chain industry.
