Rosemary Dooley is a Trinity law graduate (LL.B, 1996) and co-founder with fellow Trinity law graduate, Barbara McCormick, of Mc Cormick & Dooley law firm in New York City offering business law and immigration law services.

Rosemary is a long-term supporter of the Trinity Access Programmes (TAP) along with her sisters Geraldine, Christine, Gráinne and Catherine.  In 2009, the sisters contributed funding to support a TAP scholarship - the Joseph & Peter Dooley Scholarship - to provide students from under-represented backgrounds with the opportunity to study and fulfil their potential in Trinity College Dublin.  Rosemary and her sisters established the scholarship to honour the memory of their father and brother who had encouraged and supported each of them on their own educational journeys in Trinity.

Every year, thanks to the generosity of donors like the Dooley family, a great many talented students from low-income backgrounds will have an opportunity to study in Trinity free from financial pressures.  This year 45 new TAP scholarships were awarded to students who will now receive financial support for the duration of their studies. These are the role models whose experience and example will inspire others to follow in their footsteps – their success will have a strong ripple effect in families, schools and communities that will resonate for generations to come.

“My sisters and I were delighted to be able to contribute in a small way to the success of TAP as we all firmly believe that access to a quality education should be available to everyone, regardless of socio-economic background.  Hearing the wonderful personal stories of the recipients of the Joseph & Peter Dooley Scholarship only serves to encourage us to continue to support TAP, giving more students who might not otherwise go to university the opportunity to enjoy the Trinity experience and advantage".
