Director’s Welcome

The Hamilton Mathematics Institute TCD (HMI) was created in 2005 with the vision of fostering mathematics, theoretical physics and related disciplines. It was originally envisioned that HMI's activity would focus on vibrant visitors' programs, which would allow the Institute to quickly react to the most recent scientific developments and organize corresponding workshops and meetings. Activities organised by HMI up to now include not only important topics in pure and applied mathematics, but also annual public lecture series and outreach activities. The Institute plans to preserve its broad profile in years to come.

HMI is fortunate to have a very distinguished Scientific Advisory Board, as well as close collaborations with various institutions, both in Ireland and abroad, with whom we occasionally organise joint activities. With the support of our advisers, members of the Trinity School of Mathematics, private donations and funding from government agencies HMI creates an atmosphere that we believe is vital for creative work in modern days. We hope you enjoy your participation in HMI activities!
