IT Services are continuously updating our IT systems and exploring new technical ways to improve them to best prevent cyber attacks. While this is a crucial part of defending the University against malicious activity, creating a strong security culture, meaning that every individual in Trinity recognises their responsibility in keeping Trinity safe, forms another important part.

Combining the best possible technical measures with a successful security culture will help us protect ourselves, our data, and IT systems against cyber crime.

How do I contribute to a successful security culture?

One of the best things you can do to contribute to a successful security culture is to participate in cyber security awareness training. Regularly.

By completing training on a regular basis, you will become more comfortable with cyber security related topics, learn to how to recognise malicious activity such as phishing emails, and know how to respond to cyber threats. Taking your training seriously will help you become a part of a positive security culture in Trinity.

Where can I find training resources?

Trinity has invested in providing its community with comprehensive cyber security training resources. The most recent addition to our training portfolio is the KnowBe4 portal, accessible to all staff and postgraduate students via https://eu.knowbe4.com/ui/login

Our Cyber Crime Watch Hub is another resource that contains training material in the form of entertaining training videos. We also post our latest cyber security related news and alerts via the hub, accessible to all staff and students via SharePoint.
