Head Mentors

Head Mentors are divided up by school, and some Head Mentors might be covering several schools. Your Head Mentor may not be in the same course as you but will have the expertise of having been a Mentor already and can share tips and tricks they learned on the way. They can also choose to Mentor a first year group in addition to their Head Mentor duties.

Head Mentors are the first port of call for our volunteer Mentors. They answer their questions, help them stay on track, and keep an eye out to make sure mentees have active groups to engage with. They also organise social events for Mentors to get to know each other, and school events for Mentors to bring their group members to. Head Mentors are vital to keeping S2S informed on how things are going on the ground, by attending monthly meetings.

Mentors should start to hear from their Mentors before orientation starts and will organise a get to know you event, so that Mentors can get to meet each other and also meet the Head Mentors that will be supporting them through the year.

S2S Head Mentors

Below are the Head Mentors for 24/25! If you are a Mentor and are wondering who your Head Mentor is, have a look in your handbook.

Hi! My name's Yukta and I'm a 3rd year Global Business student. My pronouns are she/her and I'm so excited to be a Head Mentor. I've been a part of S2S for two years now, and it's a community of incredible humans who are always excited to welcome new members...so you might be writing this next ;) Being an animal lover, I like obsessing over random animal facts so feel free to hit me up with your best one.

Albertina Arockiyasamy (she/her)

Hi! I’m Albertina, it’s my second year at S2S. I’m thrilled to help you navigate the year ahead as a head mentor. I thrive on caffeine, enjoy exploring new tech, trying new eateries, love photography and networking. My tip for making the most of college? Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try new things! I’m here if you need any help or just want to chat. Looking forward to a great year together!

Hi everyone, I'm Michelle and I'm one of the Head Mentors for Computer Science. I have been a S2S mentor for 2 years already and am very excited to starting my journey as a Head Mentor. I'm a member of Formula Trinity Autonomous, so feel free to approach me if you're also obsessed with F1 or autonomous cars! I'm working in the Global Room, so you can probably spot me around the campus easily, say hi to me and I'm always happy to help!

I can nearly always be found around campus, but when I’m not in lectures or labs, I’m usually reading a book or out with friends! A tip for starting college would be to join clubs and societies, it’s a great way to meet loads of new people. I can’t wait to meet you all!

The title reads Head Mentor Role Description. The background is S2S’s signature red colour, and the text is white. The infographic is divided into four sections with the following subtitles: What is a Head Mentor? What is involved? What do you get? What is expected? Alongside each section there is an accompanying digital icon that matches the text. The text reads: •	What is a head mentor? Head mentors are the first port of call for our volunteer Mentors. They answer their questions, help them stay on track, and keep an eye out to make sure mentees have active groups to engage with. They also organise social events for mentors to get to know each other, and school events for mentors to bring their group members to. •	What is involved? Head mentors are critical to the S2S Mentor programme and are a fundamental part of TCD’s orientation process. Head mentors commit to: orientation. Assisting with the running of orientation sessions. Debriefing new mentors after orientation. Stand in to help run a session in a mentor’s absence. During the year: keep your mentors engaged and encourage them. Regularly check your head mentor gmail account keeping track of involvement worthy of an S2S award. Hosting two mentor meetups per term. Hosting one school event per term for all the mentors and mentees in your assigned courses. Liaising with class reps to ensure good working relationships with Mentors. Log all your activity online. •	What do you get? You will receive full training (one in person 3-hour training). Excellent experience in delegation, coaching and leadership. Guaranteed references based on logged activity and involvement. The opportunity to do something really positive and rewarding. Support from Faculty Reps on committee and S2S Staff. Strong social network within S2S Society. •	What is expected? You will be expected to attend one in-person training session (3 hours). Assist with orientation in September (provisionally 16th-20th of September). Contribute a maximum 1-3 hours per week. Regularly check and respond to your TCD emails and head mentor gmails. Attend monthly meetings with S2S. Respond to and liaise with S2S staff. In the footer there is an S2S Logo and a Trinity College Dublin emblem on a pink background.
