Members of the Trinity Center for Resistance Studies Balázs Apor and Krzysztof Rowinski published a special issue of the Slavonic and East-European Review in April 2026 with the title “Legacies of Cultural Resistance in Post-Communist Central Eastern Europe.” The special issue grew out of a conference organised by the Center in 2024 in the Trinity Long Room Hub and it  seeks to investigate the extent to which modes, patterns and strategies of cultural resistance in late-socialist Eastern Europe informed (or continue to inform) dissident visual art, literature or music in recent decades. The individual contributions in the journal address the short-, and long-term legacies of cultural opposition from a variety of regional, theoretical, and disciplinary vantage points.
