Trinity St James’s Cancer Institute (TSJCI) has received the status of ‘Comprehensive Cancer Centre’ - the first of its kind in Ireland – by the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes (OECI). This designation makes TSJCI the leading centre for cancer care in Ireland, and places it among the leading cancer centres in Europe.

From its establishment in 2016, Trinity St James’s Cancer Institute – a joint initiative between St James’s Hospital and Trinity College Dublin, alongside St Luke’s Oncology Network - set out to pioneer a new standard of cancer care in Ireland.
Combining the excellence of Ireland’s leading university with the country’s largest teaching hospital, the Institute champions an interdisciplinary approach to cancer care, ensuring patients are treated with compassion and expertise rooted in rigorous academic research.
TSJCI produces ground-breaking advances in cancer prevention, diagnosis, immunology, genetics, and quality of life. This research is then harnessed to provide informed and tailored treatment plans for each patient. Research is also informed by a Patient’s Representative Group, ensuring that patients have a voice in research studies that impact their care.
