Trinity’s Provost and President Dr Linda Doyle said: “It is a solid achievement to hold our place at 75th in the world in these rankings, particularly in light of continued government underfunding of Ireland’s universities."

Budget 2027: Time to Invest in Ireland's Future
Government agreed in 2022 that the sector was underfunded by over €300m annually. Four years on, despite massive increases in spending elsewhere, the gap is still substantial - €133.5m of the original annual deficit remains compounded by emerging pressures on student numbers and pay awards.

Trinity’s Cian Morgan wins 2026 Mary Mulvihill Award
Medical student Cian Morgan won the €2,000 top prize in the annual science media competition for third-level students, while Aoibheann Kearins, who has just completed a BA in Physics at Trinity, received a €500 judges’ highly commended award.
