Discipline of Medical Gerontology Postgraduate Research Day 2024

We are delighted to extend an invitation to this year's Discipline of Medical Gerontology Postgraduate Research Day, scheduled for Thursday, 25th April, at the Stanley Quek Hall in the Trinity Biomedical Sciences Institute (TBSI, Level B1, 152-160 Pearse Street, Trinity College Dublin, Dublin 2). The event will start at 9.30 and conclude at 5 pm. This in-person, all-day event is fully subscribed, with 28 current students (PhD, MD, MSc(res)) competing for three best presentation medals and three special awards (Best Scientific Communication, Scientific Discovery, and Relevance for Patient Care). As independent judges, we are delighted to welcome Ms. Bridget Gavin, Research Impact Officer at the School of Medicine, and Visiting Professor Giulia Cavrini, Full Professor of Social Statistics at the Free University of Bolzano, Italy. Additional sessions will signpost to postgraduate research supports and provide perspectives of the lived experience of completing a PhD and an MD by two of our recent graduates. We are delighted that Professor Sinéad Ryan, Dean of Research, will deliver the keynote address, and closing remarks will be provided by Regius Professor Rose Anne Kenny. The day will be highly multidisciplinary, serving as a platform to celebrate and showcase the research conducted by students within, or closely affiliated with, our Discipline and contribute to the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of the foundation of the Discipline of Medical Gerontology by Prof. Davis Coakley in 1999.
