Event details for German translation slam in Trinity on 30 June 2026.

What happens when two translators work on the same text into the same language? How different can their translations be?

At our final 'slam' event this year, translators Rachel McNicholl and Lucy Jones will be comparing their translations of an extract from 'Essen' (Food), a culinary biography by Alina Bronsky. This event will be of interest to anyone with an interest in the translation process, and no knowledge of German is required. It is kindly supported by the Goethe-Institut Irland. All are welcome and admission is free: please book your place here.
